New School Year....

Well we are off to a new start and a new school year.... Trenton is at the farm helping with wheat harvest raising money for all the trips we have to make this year to Manhattan for football..... So with him gone I decided to get started with school for everyone else.. We are tackling the Deceralation of Independence... Why cause July 4th is around the corner and I don't want to do it in Jan... What better time to learn about it when we are celebrating it...

Lots to learn with all the crazyiness going on in the world....

So we are going to do some in depth studys....

The End of the Year.....

WEll I am at the end of the school year although we school year round. Can't believe my kids are so big now.... I have Trenton which is now in 10th grade in Highschool, Christiana is in 7th grade, Jonathan is in 5/6th grade, MaKayla is in 4th grade, Juliana is in 3rd grade and my Baby Mikkel is in Preschool..

I am really excited about the curriculiam I am going to use this year. We are doing an Old Fashioned Education incorperated with a Math Curriculiam, My History Time Line, Our own Science thing, and SVHE Coop. I have already started to pull things together for the new year. Not sure when I will stop school for a month or so and then pick it back up yet as I havent decided yet. But for the most part school is out. As now we are only doing little and fun things. But at least I have most of the stuff need for school ready to go, I just need to find a Math program I just can't leave without.

This year is also my 20th year class reunion. Can't believe that I have been out of school for that long and all the accomplishments I have made. I have been married for going on 16 years, I have 6 wonderful children. I am a Nurse, a teacher, and am very active in our Church.

what a wonderful video to share for school....

Becca Taylor Frydendall Wow I started watching this and decided it was an awesome video for school so we will be watching and discussing this tomrrow in School... Its long but I think it is well worth it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQNACwaLw&feature=fvw

FINALLY SOMEONE ASKED HIM THE QUESTION! ON "ABC-TV" Monday October 12, 2009 DURING THE "NETWORK SPECIAL ON HEALTH CARE

".... OBAMA WAS ASKED:
"MR PRESIDENT WILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY GIVE UP YOUR CURRENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM AND JOIN THE NEW 'UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM' THAT THE REST OF US WILL BE ON ????"
THERE WAS A STONEY SILENCE AS OBAMA IGNORED THE QUESTION AND CHOSE NOT TO ANSWER IT !!!
IN ADDITION, A NUMBER OF SENATORS WERE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS."WE WILL THINK ABOUT IT."
AND THEY DID. IT WAS ANNOUNCED TODAY ON THE NEWS THAT THE "KENNEDY HEALTH CARE BILL" WAS WRITTEN INTO THE NEW HEALTH CARE REFORM INITIATIVE REINSURING THAT THAT CONGRESS WILL BE 100% EXEMPT ! ... See More
SO, THIS GREAT NEW HEALTH CARE PLAN THAT IS GOOD FOR YOU AND I... IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR OBAMA, HIS FAMILY OR CONGRESS...??
WE (THE AMERICAN PUBLIC) NEED TO STOP THIS PROPOSED DEBACLE ASAP !!!! THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG !!!!!
PERSONALLY, I CAN ONLY ACCEPT A UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL THAT EXTENDS TO EVERYONE... NOT JUST US LOWLY CITIZENS.... WHILE THE WASHINGTON "ELITE" KEEP RIGHT ON WITH THEIR GOLD-PLATED HEALTH CARE COVERAGES.
If you don't pass this around, may you enjoy his Plan! WHAT???
The Republic has a CONSTITUTION??? Amendment 28
Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .
Imagine what would happen if everybody passed this around?
Well I havent posted here lately.. I keep forgetting I have this thing here.. lol as Im always on Facebook.. School is so great I love Unschooling... My kids have had wonderful oppertunities because they are unschooled. One day my neighbor gave us fish soooo we looked up how to clean and cut up fish. We had 12 to do and by number 10 we finally figured it out lol.. We of course used youtube... what a great sourse of infomation that it gives you on any topic you are looking for. When we were done cleaning and cutting the fish the boys decided to take it a step future and disect them... What a great fun idea they had. They pulled the eyes out and looked at them and also cut open the head and looked at the brain. We of course looked at the organs that a fish had. The fish brain had my kids most interested cause it is sooo small. Another thing we did was the boys have been out cutting hedge trees into logs. They learned the use of a chainsaw, how it works and of course the safety of using it. THen one day the girls and I went and took pictures. We went to the park here in town to take a bunch of pics for school and the girls learned the parts of a camera how to care for it and also how to take pictures and why it was important to have the item in the center of the camera... How interesting is that. Another thing the boys did that day was went out to a farm and help casterate pigs... They learned so much there. ANd got a great work out. Things they get experinces with because we homeschool or unschool that they wouldnt get if they were in Public School. I just need a name for the classes that have to do with jobs. This is something I want to use ungoing for Trenton throughout his Highschool years... Any IDeas??

Like I dont already have enough to do....

Well I said I would NEVER do it..... lol... I was always told Never say Never... Guess what I did... I went to college got my Nursing degree and said if I didnt finish I would NEVER go back... Well with all the things happening in the US right now and not knowing what will happen with the HomeSchooling laws... I decided to protect our family and our homeschooling rights... I officially started looking at colleges... Didnt know it would be so easy... Got a call yesterday from an admissions councelor and The paln was for me to try to get my financial aid paperwork filled out asap... Well I did it when Mikkel was down for his nap and the rest of the kids were all out playing with the friends... Filled it out emailed her back because I was unsure what she was wanting me to send her... She emailed me back and so I emailed her my confirmation letter... Well she emailed me back asking if she could call me I was trying to email her and pushed send that she could call me back when the phone rang.... It was her... Well she said she was so excited that she had to call me back... Anyway she called and told me I uailified for a full pell grant and also free admissions... Thats one thing I was a little worried about is that I didnt have the $50.00 to pay for admissions right now... Anyway I am in as a student with a student id.......... .... I still have to chose my classes... I am really excited about my adventure... I decided to get my Bachelor of Science in Education degree.... So anyway thats the new adventure in my life like I had nothing else to do.... lol..............
